This Catalac 9M cruising catamaran for sale by owner. If you are looking for an exceedingly affordable catamaran with simple systems that is fun to sail, with an exceptional interior layout and a massive cockpit then look no further. The S/V "Catspaw" is an affordable and spacious catamaran which admittedly, needs some work. I have done a lot but... a lot is still required.

Build number 9/133 Year 1977. British registry no 378250 (will need renewal and to register a change of name) the Blue Book is with the boat. SSR no 102142. The boat has had several owners and was kept and cruised in the Mediterranean for many years. She was sailed back to England and thence to Belgium and sailed back to Dover. I bought her in 2007 as a retirement project and used her in the Essex and Suffolk rivers and the North Sea.

Due to personal and family circumstances I had to use her as a live aboard for a number of years and she has become tired and unkempt (particularly the inside) but is basically a good solid boat that needs a lot of tlc but can be sailed if required.

The boat is tired and requires work to both interior and exterior. Exterior requires a repaint and interior, particularly the cabins require a fair bit of work. A lot has been done but a lot remains to be done. There is a fitted and working a Yamaha 9.9 outboard with electric start and new control cables led back to the wheelhouse. There were 2 Volvo's fitted but the stbd side had a cracked block and I couldn't afford to replace it so I fitted the outboard. It works well and has a new propeller. She can be sailed but will need work to be able to sail any distance. All the systems work and are in generally good condition.

She has new main cabin headlining and cushions, has been rewired with led lighting throughout, the wheelhouse has been enclosed but the other cabins need a lot of work.

Moorings and hard standing are available at Dover Marina if required, but the purchaser will have to talk to the marina to facilitate. I am open to offers on the price.

For those who are not familiar with these boats, the Catalac 9M is a very comfortable pocket cruising catamaran which because of her draft it's possible to go into smaller and shallow lakes, coves and tropical islands. At sea this Catalac is at her best for weekend sailing and island hopping.

S/V "Catspaw" is a very comfortable catamaran for a couple to cruise. This boat can be single handed with ease. Just as important, she's also large enough to host a party in the large cockpit with lots of friends.

She is a fair example of a sought after catamaran. Although the boat needs work, she is an ideal and fair priced project boat. Please contact me for more information.
