S/V Forever is a Caribbean based 2001 PDQ 32 Altair Classic catamaran for sale by owner

The PDQ 32 features a large salon with panoramic views, excellent ventilation, spacious galley and two queen berths. With well-proportioned lines and airy-feeling accommodation, the design of the PDQ 32 achieves a lot for a small catamaran. Construction is very solid, yet expert use of materials and construction techniques keeps the hull weight low. The center cockpit is deep and well protected with a hardtop bimini. There are watertight compartments built into the hulls fore and aft.

Formerly named Zero to Cruising. With much regret, due to a terminal health issue, we must put her up for sale.

FOREVER is a very well cared for and well-equipped example of the high quality PDQ 32 Altair Classic cruising catamaran. She was one of the last PDQ 32 built (Hull #32045).

PDQ stand for Pretty Darn Quick and this boat won't disappoint. Reefing begins at about 9 knots of boat speed or 20 knots of apparent wind to windward, starting with the main. Upwind in sustained 15 knots true, expect about 6 to 7 knots with the jib and 8 knots under genoa. Beam reaching in the same winds, we’ve made 7 to 8 knots and 9 to 10 knots, respectively. Not bad for a 32 foot boat. Try that in a monohull!

With so much interior volume and most destinations somewhere in the Tropics, good ventilation is a must, and the PDQ does not fall short. Two Bomar hatches above the hulls ventilate the forward compartments, and two over the dinette provide salon ventilation. There are four smaller hatches aft, and three in the cockpit. Smaller Bomar side windows line the flanks (13) for a total of 24 opening hatches and ports.

FOREVER was delivered to her first owner in May, 2001, and after sailing fresh waters of the Great Lakes for the next 9 years (winterized and stored ashore under shrink wrap each winter), she was safely sailed south to the Caribbean, traveling as far as Trinidad. FOREVER is the preferred twin outboard version of the Performance, Dependability and Quality 32, which has the benefits of lighter weight, retractable running gear, quiet and smooth operation, and low maintenance costs. Excellent comfort, speed and handling enhance the level of sailing characteristics of this vessel. FOREVER has an extensive list of equipment which makes her very suitable for coastal cruising, and living off the grid.

Note: FOREVER was stored on the hard from May 2013 until October 2016. The utmost care was taken to ensure that she remained dry and safe during her time out of the water, and countless hours had been invested to bring her back to better than cruise-ready condition. Even though she was built in 2000, having been used only half of each year in the fresh water for the first 9 years of her life. We returned Forever to the water October 16th 2016. .

In May of 2017, Forever was in Martinique when one of the owners developed severe health issues and had to be flown back to the states. Forever returned to Grenada, was placed on a mooring ball on May 29th, 2017, where she is now located. She is a very lightly used example of this model of boat!
